Impossible to pick a best, try just about every show from 76-78. 09/02/89 was the first JGB show i ever heard and the solo's from forever young still blow me away.

09/02/89 (Sat) Merriweather Post Pavilion - Columbia, MD
Set 1: I'll Take A Melody, They Love Each Other, Forever Young, That's What Love Will Make You Do, Knockin' On Heaven's Door, And It Stoned Me, Midnight Moonlight

Set 2: Cats Under The Stars, Waiting For A Miracle, Simple Twist Of Fate, Evangeline, The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down, Don't Let Go

as LA Woman says, it's really quite impossible to say the best, so many great Jerry shows, and i realize you queried great JGB shows, but lately i've been absorbed in the '72 Garcia/Saunders stuff, and i really, really love this year, and a shame that there are so few shows to listen to (for instance where are all those Keysone Korner shows?); a few from '72 that i rather put at the top of the list:

1/19/72: without any doubt, great versions of Save Mother Earth, Expressway, Imagine

2/6/72: a wonderful show, with wonderful sound, i can't seem to get enough of it (even though i probably listen to 1/19 more than any other from this year)

6/30/72: listened to this for the first time this week, and i was astounded that i had put off listening to this gem for so long, fantastic version of Are You Lonely For Me Baby, but really, the whole show is just plain great

as for other years, damn, so much good stuff, i generally enjoy pretty much most of what Jerry Moore taped, for instance check out his recording of 4/1/76, i can't even write about it without wanting to hear it yet again...

for my favourite version of Tore Up, check out 3/6/76, the whole show just sizzles with energy and vibe, but that Tore Up ... i mean, damn, it's insane

in general, Feb. '81, May/June '83, Aug. '84, Nov. '93 are great runs for Jerry shows ... oh yeah, don't forget about 6/16/82, ranks pretty high on most fave lists, my own as well

wow... we went to this show when we were 15... it was great... i snuck down to the 2nd row for almost the entire show... everyone covered for me and made room so i could stay... a security guard stood right next to me and i got paranoid... he tapped me on the shoulder, looking real stern and sedentary, which made me REAL paranoid, only to pass me a one hitter and start jamming out with everyone else... i would really appreciate the rest of this show if someone could be so kind... thanks for this though!
